What We Believe
At Pablo Christian Church, our faith centers on Jesus Christ, and the Bible guides what we believe and how we live. These beliefs shape our worship, our relationships, and our mission to share the gospel.
God
We believe in one God who eternally exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things, perfect in holiness, love, wisdom, and power. He invites us into a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, trustworthy and true in all it teaches. Scripture is our final authority for faith and life, revealing who God is, His plan of salvation, and how we are called to live.
2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived without sin. He died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to heaven, where He reigns as Lord and intercedes for His people.
John 1:1–14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 4:14–15
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit draws people to Christ, gives new life, and dwells in every believer. He helps us understand Scripture, grow in holiness, and serve others through spiritual gifts. Through His power, we are equipped to live faithfully and share the gospel.
John 16:7–14; Romans 8:9–14; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7
Humanity and Sin
We believe every person is created in God’s image and possesses God-given dignity and worth. Yet all have sinned and fall short of His glory. Sin separates us from God, and we cannot restore that relationship through our own goodness or efforts. We need His forgiveness and transforming grace.
Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23
Salvation
We believe salvation is God’s gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus provides forgiveness and reconciliation with God. We respond to the gospel by trusting Christ, turning from sin, and following Him as Lord. Our acceptance before God rests on Christ’s righteousness, and genuine faith bears fruit in obedience and love.
Ephesians 2:8–10; Romans 5:1; Acts 2:38
Baptism
We believe baptism is the immersion in water of a person who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ. It is a response of faith and obedience that expresses our identification with His death, burial, and resurrection. Through baptism, we publicly confess Christ and our commitment to walk in new life.
Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:38–41; Romans 6:3–4
The Lord’s Supper
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice for us. The bread and cup symbolize His body and blood, reminding us of His saving death and the new covenant. As we participate together, we examine our hearts, give thanks, and proclaim His death until He returns.
Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–29
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who belong to Him through faith. The local church gathers for worship, biblical teaching, prayer, fellowship, and service. Jesus calls us to make disciples, care for one another, and share His love and truth with our community and the world.
Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Matthew 28:18–20
The Christian Life
We believe following Jesus is a lifelong journey of faith, obedience, and growth. God calls us to love Him wholeheartedly, love our neighbors, pursue holiness, and serve with humility. We depend on the Holy Spirit and encourage one another to remain faithful to Christ.
Luke 9:23; Matthew 22:37–39; Galatians 5:22–25
The Sanctity of Life
We believe every human life is sacred because every person is created in God’s image. From conception to natural death, each life has inherent dignity and worth. We are called to protect the vulnerable, care for those in need, and treat every person with compassion and respect.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:13–16; Proverbs 31:8–9
Marriage and Family
We believe God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Marriage calls a husband and wife to faithfulness, sacrificial love, and mutual care, reflecting Christ’s love for His Church. We believe sexual intimacy belongs within marriage, and we seek to support marriages and families while extending Christ’s love and compassion to every person.
Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:25–33; Hebrews 13:4
Christ’s Return and Eternity
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to fulfill God’s purposes. The dead will be raised, and all people will stand before God in judgment. Those who belong to Christ will enjoy eternal life with Him, while those who reject Him will face eternal separation from God. This hope calls us to live faithfully and share the gospel.
Acts 1:11; John 5:28–29; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 21:1–4
